What a fantastic combination: Grape, Mango, and Raspberry Smoothie! This smoothie is packed with antioxidants and provides an excellent dose of vitamin C, along with other nutrients. These ingredients offer various benefits, such as enhancing skin, brain, and bone health, and supporting gut bacteria. My favorite benefit, perhaps a bit superficial, is its positive impact on skin health and its ability to slow down the aging process.
Even better, although this smoothie is very sweet, it still has a low-calorie content.
Let's explore the reasons for some of these!
Polyphenols found in red raspberries may play a role in promoting heart health and reducing cardiovascular risk. These compounds might also offer cognitive benefits and support brain health. Additionally, raspberries are rich in manganese, a vital nutrient for various bodily functions, including bone health, wound healing, and metabolism.
Resveratrol, found in black grapes, is thought to provide outstanding protection for the heart and brain. It is also recognized for aiding the body in combating cancer, viruses, and inflammation.
Comprising 82 percent water, black grapes are low in calories even though they contain a high amount of natural sugars. This water content helps to hydrate and satisfy the body. Essentially, grapes are sweet yet remain low in calories and contain no fat.
Mangoes are low in calories but rich in vitamin C, polyphenols, and other nutrients, offering additional benefits for your skin and overall health as mentioned above.
Choose organic raspberries and grapes. These fruits are included in the dirty dozen list, which means they have high pesticide levels. We consume smoothies to stay healthy, and pesticides might diminish this benefit and possibly cause more harm than good. So, opt for organic!
Instead, opt for frozen mango and raspberry. They freeze well, and keep in mind they are frozen just a few hours after being picked at their peak nutritional value.
