While visiting health shops or even regular grocery stores, you'll often find health shots. I've sampled a few and found them beneficial, especially when I needed an antioxidant boost, such as when recovering from jetlag or illness. Consequently, I've decided to create my own Ginger Turmeric Health Shot Recipe. These shots are great for maintaining overall health.
We might consider these health shots as just the latest trends, but having traveled recently between Europe and Australia, I definitely needed the additional support, and these shots made coping easier. I've also gotten a new smartwatch that, among other things, measures antioxidant levels. An hour after taking a shot, the levels significantly increase.

Some Benefits of Ginger
Ginger is not only tasty. Gingerol, a natural element found in ginger root, aids gastrointestinal motility, which is the speed at which food leaves the stomach and progresses through the digestive system. Consuming ginger promotes effective digestion, ensuring that food doesn't remain in the gut for an extended period.
Bloating and gas can be reduced by consuming ginger, as it helps alleviate fermentation, constipation, and other sources of intestinal gas. Cellular wear and tear is also addressed by ginger, which is rich in antioxidants. These molecules assist in controlling free radicals, compounds that can harm cells when they become too abundant.
Does ginger have anti-inflammatory properties? It might. Ginger is composed of more than 400 natural compounds, some of which possess anti-inflammatory qualities. Additional research is needed to ascertain whether consuming ginger affects conditions like rheumatoid arthritis or respiratory inflammation.

Some Benefits of Turmeric
Curcumin, a natural compound (polyphenol) found in turmeric, possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric is abundant in phytonutrients that can protect the body by neutralizing free radicals, such as those from pollution and sunlight, and safeguarding cells from harm. Individuals seeking to manage inflammation may find turmeric beneficial for inflammatory conditions like arthritis, other joint disorders, colitis, allergies, and infections.
Science Behind Turmeric
In research, studies have indicated potential benefits of turmeric for:
Inflammation
Dementia
Mood disorders
Degenerative eye conditions
Hyperlipidemia (cholesterol in the blood)
Muscle soreness after exercise
Kidney health

Another idea is that, since I haven't been drinking alcohol for a while, having a shot of this with some health-conscious friends at a party is actually a fun and healthy way to mimic taking a shot.
The most common health shots are either ginger and turmeric, so let's start with that.
When preparing a turmeric shot, exercise caution because the color can stain. Use gloves and be mindful of the surface you choose.
Ingredients
Equal amount of organic ginger and turmeric
Organic Apple juice (Don't forget, apples are on the dirty dozen's list, source)
salt and pepper
Instructions
Use a potato peeler to remove the skin. Chop them into larger pieces, put them in your blender, sprinkle a pinch of salt, and add enough organic apple juice to cover them. Blend well and strain the mixture.
Include black pepper when drinking, as it enhances the bioavailability of turmeric, meaning your body can use more of it.
