Are unexpected guests arriving? Need something quick and simple to make? Or perhaps you want to enjoy something easy yet tasty? In that case, this ' The Easiest Breadsticks' recipe is the ideal solution! You can pair it with any dipping sauce you prefer. I used tomato chutney, but you could try hummus, guacamole, or anything else you like.

During a freezer cleanout, I unexpectedly discovered some puff pastry sheets. After defrosting them, I realized I didn't have a specific recipe in mind. Since a friend was visiting, I thought, why not invent something and try making breadsticks?

You can use any spread you have at home for the filling. I used vegan pesto and some paprika paste I had. Feel free to experiment with whatever you have on hand, such as green curry paste, Tom Yum, red curry, or similar items.

Ingredients

Puff pastry, each sheet will make 4 sticks.

Paste for filling, e.g. pesto

Optional: Dunk into dip or chutney!

Spread pastry on chopping board. Using a knife or pizza slicer, cut it to around 4 cm wide sticks. Fold it half lengthways and seal up by pressing the edges together.  Swirl stick around and spread dome seeds, like sesame seeds on. Bake tray for around 15 mins, turning around hallway through.

Serve it hot with your choice of dipping sauce!

Enjoy!
