Granny's Fruity Brownie

Well, you know how much I love retro food and ingredients, and one of my favorite is prunes. This Granny's Fruity Brownie Recipe has both prunes and my gluten free flour substitute, millet.

In my hometown we thought only grannies were eating prunes. If that's the case, they knew much more than us youngsters. Have a look at some benefits of prunes below. To dedicate my love for this versatile ingredient and their wisdom, I made this delicious dessert; Granny' dark chocolate brownie.

The 16 prunes in the recipe might seem a bit random, but the brownie can be sliced to 4x4, 16 slices, so each slice should have 1 prune.

Instructions

To prepare millet, first measure and rinse it. Heat it in a pan over medium heat for 5 minutes. Pour in 1 cup of boiling water and season with salt to taste. Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and allow it to rest, still covered, for 10 minutes.

Core and quarter the apple, then blend it with the margarine. Microwave for a few minutes to ensure the apple and margarine are melted. Add this mixture to all the other ingredients, except for the chocolate chips and prunes, in a blender and blend thoroughly.

Incorporate chocolate chips and prunes into the mixture and stir well, then transfer it to the baking tray and bake for approximately 50 to 55 minutes.

Serve with your preferred vegan ice cream or yogurt, or any other fruits you enjoy!

Enjoy!
