Strawberry Milkshake Recipe

I must confess that during my childhood and even into my 20s and beyond, I had a fondness for McDonald's strawberry milkshakes and any other milkshake I could find. I haven't had anything like that recently, sticking mostly to fruity smoothies, but I figured, why not treat us while still enjoying plenty of great nutrients? That's why I decided to create my own version.
My husband loves it too and he said it definitely is the real deal.
My strawberry milkshake recipe has three ingredients and only needs some minimal preparation. Here are some notes.
- As you may be aware, strawberries are part of The Dirty Dozen, indicating they have the highest pesticide levels. To prevent causing more harm than benefit, purchase organic strawberries, which don't need to be fresh; you can opt for frozen ones.
- Our favorite soy milk is fortified with calcium, making this milkshake even more nutritious, rich in calcium. Have a look here for the product. But of course, depending on your location, you have different varieties. Which one is your favorite?
- Bananas freeze very well but slice it beforehand so it's easier to get the right portion out. Bananas are part of the Clean Fifteen, so no need to buy organic.

Ingredients, serves two
2 bananas peeled sliced roughly and frozen you can do this the day before or just keep some there for this and other smoothies.
